Yamada Seina 15 years old
The vehicles he rides will all
of a sudden develop technical problems, he can't attend the
school events he is looking forward to because some troubles,
but it rains that day anyway. His bad luck is so famous that
all of his friends call him "sainan"(meaning "disaster" in
Japanese) instead of his real name "Seina." His life philosophy
is that of an old man- "live peacefully throughout your entire
life." But he is not an uninvolved and reckless youth. Seina
is a hot-blooded young man who shows his feelings in crucial
moments. But his constant mishaps reduce his power and cause
much trouble so he is overly cautious. He is spiritually strong
and doesn't feel depressed by the disasters happening to him
and he has a great gift to deal with the troubles that are
caused by his bad luck. His biggest misfortune is he is very
insensitive to the one lucky thing he encountered so far.
He is totally unaware of the feelings that Kiriko, Ryoko and
the sensitive Amane have towards him.

Amane Kaunaq 20 years old
Mihoshi's friend and GP second degree detective
She hardly ever thinks too much before putting
her thoughts into action. She has an open and cheerful character
and is not afraid of anything. She gets involved in Seina's
world and gets promptly burned by the problems caused by Seina's
bad luck. Many of Seina's friends try to keep him out of trouble.
But Amane has the kind of personality that even when she knows
there are problems ahead she will try to conquer them, even
if means breaking through walls. Therefore she stands up to
challenge Seina's bad luck but most of the time she bites
off more than she can chew. She starts to care for Seina while
trying to help Seina to overcome his bad luck. The only blot
in her character is her lack of sensibility. Amane is very
proud that the spaceship she uses has never been struck by
pirates. But Seina's bad luck breaks her splendid zero attack
record. The strong lucky flair she has still remains in effect,
so she can hit the target without the weapon control computer.
So the reason Seina entering the GP is based on Amane misreading
the situation and also being wrong on her intuition that he
would be a bonus for the GP. Amane becomes a part-time teacher
in the GP Academy since she brings earthlings out to the galaxy.

Kiriko Masaki Self-proclaimed
21 years old. But actually, she is 33 years old
Kiriko attends university in
Tokyo but she is an Investigative Officer in the Galaxy Academy
Immigration Office. She met Seina when he was in kindergarten.
She takes care of Seina, who always does his best even though
bad luck always befalls him, as if he were her own brother.
She has a gentle and calm nature and a kind of mature adult
male attitude. She is Seina's idea of a perfect woman but
she is awkward about love. Even though she is an expert of
data processing she will loose her calm judgment suddenly
when it comes to personal matters. It doesn't matter whether
she is jealous of Amane or it's her attempts to protect Seina
from his bad luck, the accommodating Kiriko becomes aware
of her feelings towards Seina while taking care of him. Kiriko
is not found of Amane who shows up in front of Seina as a
part-time teacher in GP Academy and gets Seina into more troubles.
Nor to mention that Amane had been bothered her investigation.

Ryoko Balouta
Ryoko is a member of the "Da
Lumar" Union that was organized by the remainders of different
pirate groups "Gild" which had been destroyed by Jurai and
the Galaxy Army. She was named "Ryoko" after the legendary
pirate Ryoko who invaded the planet Jurai and caused major
havoc there. Ryoko though has a totally opposite character
compared with Ryoko. She can't drink much and is good at the
Tea ceremony, flower arrangement, Japanese traditional dance
and cooking. She differs from Amane and Kiriko in that she
is a woman of sensibility. But her well-planed love strategy
easily breaks apart when facing the "Seina Fortress" which
is build from the steel walls of bad luck and bricks of an
obtuse mind. She is one of the most popular women on the GP
wanted list (at least with the male officers), since she is
a pretty, elegant and mild mannered girl. |

Mitoto Kuramitsu
She is Mihoshi's mother and work
as a cleaning woman in the GP head office. Mihoshi's "bimbo
act" is clearly the heritage of Mitoto. Mitoto will activate
her powers when she concentrates on something. According to
people around her: "Mitoto went missing while cleaning the
GP station and set the whole GP amok and searching everywhere
to find her. She was found on a planet 80,000 light years
away, cleaning the bathroom of an elementary school on that
planet. Even when labeled coincidence, it is quite odd that
she could reach that planet, breaking through all those tight
safety checks and making a connection from a military ship
with commercial flights. But when she was questioned about
it, she just said: "I was so into cleaning the floor and by
the time I noticed, I was there." None of the security systems
work when she is near. |
